New Orleans—Louisiana House of Representatives District 91 Candidate Mandie Landry took little time to sign Mayor LaToya Cantrell’s “Fair Share Pledge.” The pledge is a commitment to supporting that New Orleans gets its fair share of tax dollars from the state for infrastructure needs, including drainage, water systems and transportation.

“As soon as I saw the pledge, Isigned it,” Landry says. “New Orleans is an economic powerhouse for Louisiana and we send a great deal of tax dollars to Baton Rouge, but unfortunately we get little in return. Mayor Cantrell secured about $50 million for the city’s infrastructure from the state this past legislative session with possibly millions more in recurring revenue. It’s a great start, but our people and City deserve and need more, and as a state legislator, I will work with the Mayor and the New Orleans delegation to make sure we get it.”
