NEW ORLEANS--A political outsider committed to real change, Mandie Landry roared into the November 16 run off with a strong finish, with only 18 votes out of more than 11,000 ballots cast separating Landry from her run off opponent.

“This campaign has consistently been about bringing real change to the Louisiana Legislature,” says Landry.

“We will continue knocking on doors, meeting people one by one, and letting residents know we can make our city and state a better place. We can elect women in Louisiana who are pro choice, who support unions, who want to decriminalize marijuana and continue fighting for real criminal justice reform, and who will work hard to make sure that New Orleans remains strong and protected.”

Landry placed first or second in nearly every District 91 precinct, demonstrating how her

grassroots’ approach clearly resonated with voters. Voters are fed up with “business as usual” and want someone who can challenge Baton Rouge’s Ol’ Boys Club, and has the experience of getting things done.

“One thing I’ve learned from my 14 years of practicing law is that when you represent other people, you always have to keep their interests in mind,” Landry says. “In this state, too many poor people and underrepresented communities are often forgotten and overlooked; as a state representative, I’ll work tirelessly to be a strong voice for all Louisianans.”
