Landry hopes to follow Tribune’s commitment
to social justice and civil rights as a legislator

NEW ORLEANS--Originally founded in 1864, the New Orleans Tribune was “dedicated to social justice and civil rights for all Louisiana citizens,” and today the newspaper still stands by those ideals. Mandie Landry, who is in the runoff for state representative of District 91, says that as a state legislator she will work to make those ideals a reality.

“New Orleans and Louisiana need legislators who are willing to fight the status quo, which has failed so many of our residents,” Landry says. “Our residents deserve a living wage; we shouldn’t have to worry about constant street flooding, which means getting New Orleans its fair share from state taxes; and our families need and deserve a high quality education system.”

Landry, an attorney who has practiced law for more than 14 years, says her experience has taught her how to get good results for clients, and now she’s ready to do that for the residents of District 91.
