NEW ORLEANS--State Representative District 91 Candidate Mandie Landry strongly believes in and advocates for reproductive rights: defending an abortion clinic in her legal practice, and making women’s reproductive rights a legislative priority.  In a recent Teen Vogue op-ed, “Abortion for Teens in Louisiana Will Be Decided at the Polls — But They Can't Vote on Them,” Landry points out that these rights encompass more than just abortion.

“I think the lack of access to proper sex education and birth control at the moment is a bigger obstacle than abortion restrictions,” Landry said, reflecting on how Louisiana fails to mandate mandatory sex education in schools. Landry knows that the best way to help keep young women safe and healthy is to provide them with truthful information about their bodies and choices.

Landry was interviewed for a provocative op-ed by Isabella Brown, who is a New Orleans student and a member of the New Orleans Junior Journalism Program
